Dead Island dev has plans for Dead World

Dead Island's chaos was confined into a tropical isle, but Techland wants its zombie outbreak to spread. In September, Lionsgate optioned the Kronos III Gold overall game's film rights, and a week ago, the developer filed a trademark for an additional possible project from the series.
Zombie outbreaks aren't fully contained.
Spotted by Siliconera, Techland has filed a US Patent and Trademark Office application for use with the name Dead World. The filing, dated October 28, would cover use with the term because it relates to digital media and entertainment/game-related properties. The developer have not made any announcements regarding a possible Dead Island follow-up.
Dead Island proper was a student in development for over five years, but Techland isn't completed with it yet. A content pack titled Blood Arena was delayed in September, but Techland has since reallocated development resources to "further polishing" with the base game.
Set using a secluded resort, Dead Island tells the brutal story of daily civilians embroiled in a zombie apocalypse. Gamers can make among four character classes, which break down into your leader, tank, jack-of-all-trades, and assassin archetypes. Every single character starts the same way--suddenly attacked by zombies in the island's hotel, knocked out, and dragged to your nearby pool house converted to your shelter.
