PC game charts: February 4-10

Any historian really should be able to attest that crusades are certainly not uniformly successful. However, Blizzard Entertainment's Burning Crusade, the enflamed expansion for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft, undoubtedly is. Beyond selling 2.4 million Sunwell Gold copies rolling around in its first 24 hours around the market, the Burning Crusade topped the NPD Group's US retail PC game sales charts for that week of February 4 to 10.
As in past weeks, Burning Crusade was followed in second place by its parent product, World of Warcraft, with Electronic Arts' virtual life game The Sims 2 in third. A new Sims offering, The Sims: Life Stories, entered fourth, with The Sims 2: Pets expansion representing the series' last top-10 entrant on the sixth spot for the charts. EA also claimed the seventh and eighth places around the charts with Madden NFL 07 and Battlefield 2142, respectively.
The non-Blizzard, non-EA section with the top 10 to the week was three games strong, with Sony Online Entertainment's Vanguard: Saga of Heroes in fifth, Take-Two's TV-based Deal or No Deal at nine, and Mumbo Jumbo's Bejeweled 2 at 10.
